Makeup Must Haves!!!

Okay, so the past few weeks or so, I have been on this makeup kick. Not just kick, I mean, spend 1/2 my paycheck at Sephora and kind of kick. But boy am I glad that I did!! I have always been a penny pincher when it came to makeup, but I am now becoming more comfortable spending a little bit more. You really do get what you pay for (in most cases).

seriously the greatest lip color ever

Okay, so lets get started:

  1. Benefit Rockateur Blush: This stuff is the bee’s knees (que bee snapchat filter). I have freckles that like to show in the summer time, and after I put my foundation on, this gives me the perfect rosy color to pop my cheeks!
  2. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: This is holy grail, best mascara I have ever used. I have gone back and forth from this to generic, and I keep finding myself coming back to it. It gives remarkable results, and I do not even curl my lashes. It gives them a full, long lash look, and lasts all day long!
  3. Too Faced Highlighter: This is the limited edition, candlelight glow. I had never used a highlighter before this one, and it was a good one to start with. Easy application that lasts, even though sweat!
  4. NYX HD Concealer: For only $5 this is the best concealer I have found! It covers my dark circles and lasts with only a setting powder for days when I do not want to wear a full face of makeup. Wonderful product!
  5. Anastasia Brow Wiz: I LOVE BROWS. I used to use eye shadow to fill in my brows until one day I decided to bite the bullet and finally get a brow pencil. I am SO happy that I did! I use this pencil every single day, and it is worth every penny. You can make your brows extremely defined, or just more filled in. I eve wear it on days that I do not wear makeup!
  6. Mac Prep & Prime Lip: I have always loved lipstick, but I have a problem with my lips staying hydrated, and my color staying pigmented throughout the day. This lip primer does the trick! Especially with mattes and incredibly bright colors, it truly makes all of the difference.
  7. Clinique Quickliner: I used Clinique all of the time when I was in Junior High (thanks Lori!!) but after a few years of that, I grew apart from it. I went back and tried this eyeliner and it works wonders with my water line! It does not take very much, and it really makes my eyes pop and lasts all day!
  8. Lancome Quickliner: Okay, so this one was a splurge for me. I have never ever bought a nice liquid eyeliner until this one. I looked at a lot of reviews and I read so many great things about this that I had to try it for myself! It goes on so well and straight. The tip is firm, and goes on bold so you do not have to go over it (good for me because I usually mess up after one time!). It is $30, but I am hoping it lasts a long time. It really it worth it!
  9. Last but not least Make Up For Ever- Artist Rouge Lipstick. I got this to review from Influenster and Make Up For Ever (thank youuuu!!!!), and I do not know how I have never used their lipsticks before. These are so creamy, bold, and seriously do not fade or come off easily. I put some on my hand and I had to scrub to get it off!) These colors are C502 (purple), C404 (rose/middle), and C211(red)! These are a 10/10 on my list and might even beat MAC on my list of lips!

I should probably stop buying makeup now so I can put this all to good use for more than two weeks, but we will see how that goes! hehe

Ya’ll have a good week!! Happy Monday!

New Apartment!

So I recently moved into a new apartment and I really wanted to vamp up my decor and my living space. I got really lucky and moved into the next building over, so moving was not that big of a hassle! Unfortunately I lost my golf course view and balcony, but my one bedroom is in the perfect location that is perfectly lit during the night.
I have been getting a lot of questions about my decor so I figured I wold just do a blog post on it so you guys can see where I got everything!

I was really hesitant when putting all of this together because I did not know how it would turn out. But it actually turned out super cute in my opinion!  I got most of this for a steal! Linked below are the products!
This couch is from amazon, and is actually a sofa bed (which I found out when I started assembling it) You can find it here!!
I am obsessed with this coffee table! Also from Amazon!
This mirror was such a steal!!! I got it at Hobby Lobby for only $100 (originally $499!) It is not online, but I did look into getting this one that is only $180!  Also, shoutout to Nicole for helping me get that massive mirror put up!
These pillows are SO CUTE! I saw them at target a few months back and absolutely loved them, but at the time I had zero place to put them. Thankfully I went to my Big’s house, and she just got hers but ended up not wanting them  anymore, so I bought them from her for such a steal. These pillows are incredibly adorable! They are actually out of stock but there are similar ones here!
I got the cute little picture above the side table at Target as well! So cute and I have a lot of stuff from the Oh Joy! collection. You can find it and a lot more here ( and its on sale!).
My favorite thing from my living room is this amazing rug. I got it from My friend Paige told me about this website and I will never buy another rug anywhere else. I havent seen better prices anywhere! (The size I got is the 5’5 x 8’2ft) You can get it here!
Also, I got that blue candle on my coffee table from Leaning Willow and it smells AMAZING! GO check them out on Instagram/Facebook or in store! And Whole Foods flowers are the best!!
All of my small decorations came from TJ Maxx! 🙂 Pineapple Book Ends here! And these super cool but kinda weird hands here!
If yall have any questions just ask!

when your devotion just speaks to you

As some of you know, I have been working out, eating healthy, and really just trying to live a more healthy life. I gained more weight than I should have in college and although that is normal, it is a lot harder to get it off when you are 22 and not 18 and active anymore. Thankfully I live with a health nut and have found healthier eating habits and have more motivation to go to the gym.

I have noticed significant change and I could not be more excited.

Last night as I was writing in my journal, my devotional talked about body image.

Wow, how perfect was that?!

It said this:

“The key to winning this battle is in reminding ourselves that God cherishes us just as we are. We must try to build our self-image around what God thinks of us. The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let God see in and through your body.”

I just wanted to share this with you all. I hope that it can help one of you out the way it did me.

Graduating Late; and thats okay.

Its May and I am a Senior in college.

Almost all of my friends are posting pictures in their cap and gowns, senior pictures, going to graduate schools, and counting down the days until they get their degree they have worked so hard for. And I am SO PROUD of them!

College is not easy, so walking across that stage is a huge deal!

I am not walking this May.

I transferred to the University of Arkansas in December of 2013, and as great of a decision that was, I am now graduating a semester late. It’s hard seeing all of my friends getting to take this next step in life, while I have to be patient and wait (especially because I am lacking in the patience department). But you know what I have come to realize?

That it is okay.

Most people do not even graduate from college once they begin. So even if I am a semester late, thats normal! I saw a statistic that said only about 40% of college students graduate in four years time. (So friends, GO YOU!)

If you are like me, you don’t like school and you would much rather work 9-5, five days a week. So I am trying to look at the positives of staying in school a semester late.

-If my part-time job has me working the closing shift, and my class for the day doesn’t start until noon, I get to sleep in. 😀

-If I don’t have classes one day, nor do I have to work? I can do whatever I want for the entire day!

-If I don’t feel good one day and just don’t feel like going to class, I do not have to go! (even though I should)

So if you’re in the same boat as me, just remember that it is okay and one day you’ll get to walk across that stage and get your diploma that you have worked so hard to achieve.

Finally Got That Workspace

Here I am, procrastinating again.

In the next two weeks I have to get this done:

  1. 2 Page Reflection on my table at the Parent Education Fair
  2. 2 Page Reflection on my lesson plan I implemented
  3. 5 Page Policy on Child Welfare paper
  4. 5 Page Philosophy Statement
  5. 10 Powerpoint slides that connects my learning with state standards
  6. Anecdote on an event that happened in my lab
  7. 10 minute presentation

So obviously I need a better place to get things done rather than sitting on my bed. I am extremely proud of how it turned out and I just wanted to share it with you all! 12928237_10154080386848571_6765655797781477979_n.jpg

Your’re Okay Picture / Flower Picture / Aztec Pillow (on sale!!!)

(Don’t pay attention to my half dead flowers. That bouquet did not hold up very well.)

I did, however, get almost everything from Target! My desk and chair came from my beloved Amazon, but everything else was from there! I will link them below the picture!

Hedgehog Figurine

I also got this party hedgehog decorative figurine, just because. I feel like it really made my desk!

Target has a line out right now called “Oh Joy!” and it is where I got my pictures and hedgehog! So many cute decorative things online right now. You have to go check it out!

Until next time! xo

Springtime [kinda]

This is basically just to show how much I love springtime.

I get to buy flowers and fruit to plant, eventually. (even though I can’t right now because I have 30 wasps hanging around my balcony)

I get to wear my FAV spring/summer lip color by MAC.

florals, florals, and more florals.

Lipstick // Top (On Sale!)

Since I can’t plant my flowers and strawberries due to the wasps, I had to buy myself some flowers instead. I am obsessed.unnamed-3.jpgunnamed-2.jpgunnamed-1.jpg

Maybe by this time next week I will get to plant my flowers and get to show you guys updates! 🙂

Until next time!

wishing for summer on spring break

So last week was Spring Break. As of one month ago, I had zero plans. Then two weeks beforehand, Derek and I decided to take a quick extended weekend trip to Vegas!

This wasn’t our first time to Vegas, but it was our first time to actually spend some time there. We did sooo many fun things.

Blackjack, blackjack, and more blackjack!

I’m kidding, we did more than that. But we always ended up back at Bally’s before we knew it.

Friday afternoon after we went to M&M World, we had the idea to go jump off of the Stratosphere. I have done it before, but Derek hadn’t. We both jumped successfully without any broken bones! It goes a little something like this (this is when I jumped a few years ago with my BFF, Tori.)  Don’t let Derek fool you, he was nervous walking up. 😉

Saturday morning, we decided we wanted to rent a car and drive to the Hoover Dam. We rented a Corvette, but it ended up being unavailable. So they ended up giving up a Porche 911 Carrera for the day for no extra charge!

You can imagine how excited Derek was for that.

Here are a few pictures of our drive!

The entire way there Derek wanted the top down, but I didn’t have sunglasses so my hair was getting caught in my eyes. Once we got to the dam, Derek bought me some sunglasses so he could have some fun while riding down the freeway.

And let me tell you, he had a blast (i just bit all of my nails off…).

Also while we were there, Derek had a surprise for me but wouldn’t tell me what it was until right before!

Our seats were fabulous and my company was top notch. 12800360_10154032495958571_3417406359775434258_n.jpg12376327_10154032495888571_5321779164443710595_n.jpg

We are already talking about when we want to go back. This trip was amazing with the best partner I could have asked for!
